FAQs Frequently asked questions

To optimize our level of support and provide a service with the best quality possible to our customers, all tickets are divided into categories. There are basic rules why tickets can be closed:
1. You have DTC errors but you didn't put their descriptions or scan log in your ticket;
2. You created a ticket in the wrong category, for example to DTC Removal Module, but DTCs are related to another Swiftec modules (DPF, EGR, etc);
3. You didn't attach the original and modified files.

Some of maps require checksum availability to be opened. This stands mostly for ECU up to EDC16/ME7. Please contact our support by Ticket to remove such dependency.

Just go to this page: https://swiftec.pt/accounts/password_reset/ and enter your email (the one used to create your account in Swiftec). Then you will receive an email with all steps that allow you to change your password. If there is a link in the email, copy it to your browser instead of clicking on it.

It will depend on what type of license you acquired.
If you own a Perpetual license, you can still use the software, but without software support and updates expired.
In case that you have a Membership or Subscription license, you will not be able to use the software or any other Swiftec features/services.

Swiftec is licensed to be used only on one registered computer. For example, in situations when your computer gets broken, it is possible, after approval, to change the registered PC to a new one.
When you switch computers, as soon you start Swiftec on a computer that isn’t registered, the software will send a request to register that computer.
If switch gets approved, you will be notified by email, and then you will be able to use Swiftec on that computer.
When a new computer gets registered, that process removes the previous registration.
The registration process is done manually by us during our working time.

Our software can not be used in a virtual machine. You must use it on an OS installed directly on a computer.

No. The usage of remote tools is strictly prohibited. Even in a local environment. This action may revoke your license, without refund!

If you acquire/have a Perpetual license, the daily amount of project is unlimited. But Membership and Subscription licenses have daily limits, that can be extended using credits.

To be able to download the last version of the software, your access to software support and updates should be active. We also don't maintain any old versions of our software. In case you have Perpetual License and you plan to work without an renewing access to software support and updates, please remember to backup your Swiftec copy to not lose it, in case of a PC crash, for example.

Unfortunately no, as credits can be only used in restricted areas where you must have your software support and updates active. Credits will not get lost. However, as soon as you get software support and updates active, you have the possibility to use them.
